‘The most magnificent horse in the world is the Friesian horse.’ That was the message shared across thousands of websites, newspapers, radio- and TV stations in early 2017. With long black manes, a strapping and unwavering appearance. The Friesian horse appeals to the imagination, more than ever before.
On January 12th and 13th dozens of Friesian horses take to the stage for a shining lead act of the concert- and show production FRIESIAN PROMS 2023. They will share the arena with famous artists such as Waylon, Samantha Steenwijk, The Dutch Tenors and Hans Klok in their midst. In addition to these well-known artists some lesser-known artists will perform their acts, all of this boosted with horse acts that will surprise because of the unexpectedness of the combinations.
The artists´ accompaniment will be in the hands of the orchestra ‘The Symphonic Music Connection’ under the leadership of conductor Theo Brouwer and the 70-strong FRIESIAN PROMS Choir made up of the choirs Sjonge-Jonge vocal group from Grou, Solid Sound Pop Vocals from Drachten and Pop Choir Hege Hakken from Heeg under leadership of conductor Akke Bosma.
Needless to say there will be many Friesian horses, riders and drivers from our ‘home ranks’ to give us their very best during the FRIESIAN PROMS. They provide the ‘icing on the cake’. And they do it as described above, partly in combination with the other artists who are going to put in an appearance. There is no doubt this evening of the FRIESIAN PROMS 2023 will be a very special experience.
The programme of FRIESIAN PROMS hosts an abundance of horse acts, combined with the performances of the artists and musically accompanied by The Symphonic Music connection. The arena will be magically transformed to a veritable stage for the Friesian horse, supervised by Trieneke Verbeek.
For the Thursday evening of FRIESIAN PROMS special VIP cards are available. These include comfortable seating in a prominent spot with excellent views of the arena. Table service of national beverages and a choice of hot and cold snacks is included.

Before the show you have the option to enjoy dinner in the VIP Plaza and table service is available for the duration of the event.
